1855: The World famous Hope Diamond displayed by Hancocks at the Exposition Universell, Paris attracting huge crowds. Hancocks had created a beautiful girdle with the blue diamond as the centre piece between two large rubies.

1855: Exposition Universelle, Paris: Hancocks awarded Medaille d’Honneur.

1856: The Victoria Cross: Queen Victoria appoints Hancocks to produce the new medal. Hancocks remain to this day as the only manufacturers of the Victoria Cross.
